atelier stories was born from a simple idea: a children’s celebration doesn’t have to be something that only looks beautiful in photos. It can be a thoughtfully created experience that children genuinely enjoy, feel comfortable in, and remember for a long time.

Who founded atelier stories
Behind the brand is Jana Hrochová, a mother of a young daughter with many years of experience in events and production. Motherhood was one of the main inspirations behind atelier stories. It changed the way Jana looked at children’s celebrations and shared experiences — not simply as something that should look beautiful, but as moments that should feel comfortable, safe, thoughtfully designed and genuinely enjoyable for both children and parents.
A sleepover brought right to your home
atelier stories specialises in fully prepared themed sleepovers set up directly in the client’s home. Parents choose the date, number of children and theme. We bring all the equipment, set everything up and style the space on site, then return afterwards to pack it all away and collect it.
Each child has their own teepee and a real place to sleep — with a mattress, bedding, a duvet, pillow, blanket, lights and themed accessories. So it is not just decoration or a photo corner, but a complete sleepover experience.
We currently offer Mermaid World, Wizard Academy and SPA Night. Each theme is designed as its own little world, with a distinct atmosphere, lighting and details. We are also gradually developing creative activities and themed extras for each one, so the sleepover becomes more than simply a place to sleep — it becomes a whole evening to enjoy together.
Less to worry about for parents
One of the core values of atelier stories is simplicity.
Parents don’t need to buy mattresses, source decorations and lights, or collect several sets of bedding only to wonder where to store everything afterwards. We arrive, set up the space, and once the sleepover is over, we pack everything away and take it with us.
That is also why atelier stories can be especially useful for international and expat families living in Prague. Organising a children’s celebration in a new country is not always easy — you may not know the local suppliers or where to find everything you need. atelier stories takes care of most of that organisation for you.
A Prague-based concept with an international perspective
We are a Prague-based concept specialising in themed children’s sleepovers, styled kids’ lounge areas and immersive children’s corners for private celebrations, weddings and events. We are bringing the styled sleepover format to the Czech market — a concept that is already well established abroad, but still relatively new in the Czech Republic.
Beauty alone isn’t enough. Quality matters.
From the very beginning, we never wanted atelier stories to be built on looks alone. That is why we place such strong emphasis on quality, hygiene, comfort and safety. We choose our equipment not only for how it looks in photographs, but also for whether it is genuinely suitable for children and for a real night’s sleep.
Each teepee is prepared as a proper place to sleep. We use quality mattresses, bedding and hygienic protective layers. Our equipment includes, for example, protective textiles by the Czech brand Kaarsgaren, some of our textile pieces are made locally, and much of our equipment is sourced on the Czech market.
Between each hire, all textiles are washed and the equipment is cleaned and freshly prepared for the next clients. For us, it matters just as much how beautiful the sleepover looks when the lights are glowing as whether a child sleeps comfortably through the night.
More than sleepovers
atelier stories is gradually expanding beyond at-home sleepovers. We create styled kids’ lounge areas and children’s corners for weddings, private celebrations, cultural events and corporate events, in both indoor and outdoor settings.
We don’t want to create a traditional children’s corner that feels like an afterthought, separate from the rest of the event. Our aim is for the children’s area to fit naturally into the overall space and character of the event, while still being genuinely functional and enjoyable for children.
Depending on the project, the set-up can include teepees, soft seating, creative activities, lighting elements, projections or themed scenography.
atelier stories is also open to collaborations with event agencies, wedding planners, hotels, restaurants and other partners who want to add a high-quality children’s experience to their offering.
